Heart for Ministry

BUT HOW CAN I KNOW FOR SURE?
Questions like this are being asked by men and women of all ages in the church. As people respond in obedience to God's calling . His call to salvation, His call to grow in discipleship, His call to serve . they discover that God can use their lives to influence their world for His Kingdom. Through this process, some people begin to sense God directing them into expanded service. Like the faithful stewards in Matthew 24, they are good and faithful servants who have been faithful with a few things.about to be put in charge of even more.
More and more people are responding to God's call by moving into expanded ministries. It has been reported that 38% of all leaders in both the Church and Christian non-profit ministry agencies came into their position from the marketplace. [Church Central, Tom Harper, November, 2004] These are second-career, homegrown, Emerging Leaders - men and women led by God and raised in the Church
The Heart For Ministry is an interactive, mentor-related, learning experience designed to help connect the dots of God's prompting. Designed to be used in Bible Study environment - there is both a student guide for the Emerging Leader and a leader's guide for the Pastor - or some other designated Mentor. The course is designed around 12 sessions and includes selected readings, guided discussion and personal reflection. It helps answer the significant questions:
- What does it mean to be a "leader"?
- What does it take to become the leader God wants me to be?
- How can I discover the unique future that God has for me?
- What is the next step I need to take into the future God is leading me?

- In addition to the course packet and leader's guide, the textbook Living Your Strengths is included. Leaders are expected to take and share the results of the same assessments as the students.
